Born in Tellicherry, Kerala, India on 10th July 1945. Father, K. P. K. Nambiar, is a retired Educational Officer of Kerala State Government, Grand Father, late Vishnu Namboodiri, was a scholar from Chandramana Namboodiri family of Ezhimala in Kerala. Ancestors home (tharavad) is Kolangara house in Kuthuparamba.

Father’s ancestors home is Kannoth House of Azhikode. Mother Late Nani amma.  Brothers are Balakrishnan doing business in Bombay and Jaydev employed in Riyadh with Alba.  Sisters are Malathy (retd. teacher), Late Leelavati (Hindi teacher), Ramabhai (Malayalam teacher), Sathi (Primary teacher) and  Meerabai (Gramin Bank).  Uncle is K. Padmanabhan Nair a retired senior officer of Government of India (worked in Delhi ministry and Bangalore).

Initial studies were in Chettamkunnu primary and B. E. M. P. High School of Tellicherry and Kuthuparamba High School.  College studies were in Farook College of Calicut. Holder of two degrees in Economics + English Literature and Business Administration with special emphasis in Marketing.  Member of American Management Association Int’l. (USA) – (General and Marketing Management) – 1981. Member of British Institute of Management (UK) – (Corporate Member) –1982. Fellow of Institute of Professional Managers (UK) – (Management) – 1983.

Joined Saudi Catering & Contracting in 1975. Employed as the Marketing Manager of the company which is one of the top 100 companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining Saudi Catering & Contracting Company, worked for B.K. Birla Group of India in Bombay . Served Birlas for a decade.  Prior to joining Birlas, worked with Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (minister then was late Smt. Indira Gandhi), Bombay and many other private companies in Bombay.

While serving Birlas he was actively involved in organizing two National Seminars in India – ‘Development of Human Resources for Industrial Growth’ and ‘Role of Instrumentation in National Development’. Received meritorious award for the later one chaired by the then President of India, Mr. Fakrudeen Ahmed.
